state government has been tasked to create enabling environment for youth
across the state to contribute meaningfully to its economy.
The
initiator, Goal Getter Initiative, Mr. Kayode Oyin-Zubair gave the advice while
featuring on a radio programme aimed at sensitizing the youth on how to utilize
their potentials.
Mr.
Oyin-Zubair who said there was need for Kwara state government to allow youth
outside its cabinet to offer feasible and tangible ideas that could move the
state forward, stressed that, the youth in the state needed to be empowered in
the area of Agriculture, Education, Health and Commerce.
In
his contribution, a member of the initiative who is also an expert in value
chain management, Dr. Dele Adeniyi maintained that government needed to prioritize
making use of indigenous personnel in the Agricultural sector rather than
engaging foreign experts that can render its youth worthless in the state.

he Joint Action Against Corruption
in Kwara (JAACK) has said that the people of Kwara State will continue to
insist on the best service delivery and standardized governance having been deprived
of such for so long.
The Organizing Secretary of the
group, Joe Mahmud stated this in a statement in Ilorin on Wednesday that there
is no other way to it.
"the governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed
must live to the expectations of those that voted him into office which include
responsible and responsive governance."
JAACK said it believes the government will
take her advise earlier in the week seriously to include the people in her
decisions particularly, citing of projects among other important ones.
It added that since the governor
has suddenly risen to his responsibilities as noticed in the past few days;
where laid foundation for some projects and moving out of his office, it will just be complimentary to encourage him
to do more.
The statement concluded that the
residents should not in any way be carried away as "this is usually the
trend in the twilight of the previous administrations in the state. What we
require is the sincerity of purpose premised on giving the people the best that
they deserve".
