“ENABLING ENVIRONMENT CAN HELP OUR YOUTH DEVELOP KWARA, BRING OUT DESIRED CHANGE”

wara state government has been tasked to create enabling environment for youth across the state to contribute meaningfully to its economy.

The initiator, Goal Getter Initiative, Mr. Kayode Oyin-Zubair gave the advice while featuring on a radio programme aimed at sensitizing the youth on how to utilize their potentials.

Mr. Oyin-Zubair who said there was need for Kwara state government to allow youth outside its cabinet to offer feasible and tangible ideas that could move the state forward, stressed that, the youth in the state needed to be empowered in the area of Agriculture, Education, Health and Commerce.

In his contribution, a member of the initiative who is also an expert in value chain management, Dr. Dele Adeniyi maintained that government needed to prioritize making use of indigenous personnel in the Agricultural sector rather than engaging foreign experts that can render its youth worthless in the state.

he Joint Action Against Corruption in Kwara (JAACK) has said that the people of Kwara State will continue to insist on the best service delivery and standardized governance having been deprived of such for so long.



The Organizing Secretary of the group, Joe Mahmud stated this in a statement in Ilorin on Wednesday that there is no other way to it.


"the governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed must live to the expectations of those that voted him into office which include responsible and responsive governance."



JAACK said it believes the government will take her advise earlier in the week seriously to include the people in her decisions particularly, citing of projects among other important ones.



It added that since the governor has suddenly risen to his responsibilities as noticed in the past few days; where laid foundation for some projects and moving out of his office, it  will just be complimentary to encourage him to do more.



The statement concluded that the residents should not in any way be carried away as "this is usually the trend in the twilight of the previous administrations in the state. What we require is the sincerity of purpose premised on giving the people the best that they deserve".





KWARA, OSUN IGBOMINA ROYAL FATHERS TAKE BOLD STEP FOR UNITY

irst class royal fathers in igbomina land have been congratulated and commended for showing a giant stride at the first  ever joint  unity meeting  of Igbomina royal fathers.

This was contained in a statement signed by the National  Public relation officer of Omo Ibile Igbomina, Comrade Oni Martins.

According to the statement, the national president of the union, Engineer Timothy  Niyi Adebayo and his team on behalf of igbomina sons and daughters  in Kwara,  Osun and diaspora expressed their happiness  that  His royal majesty,  Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdulwahab Adedeji Oyedotun, hosted the maiden meeting  in his palace on the 7th of march 2017.

The statement indicated that the meeting was a clear demonstration that Igbomina land has dependable  and listening royal fathers.

While describing the meeting  as a fulfillment of promise made during  2016 Igbomina day celebration held in Ilala community, the union prayed for more of such important  gathering  that will always involve Igbomina Obas.
